>>1 based on my exp, yes you may delete photos in your iphone that is already backed up in google photos.

>>1 That’s the point of Google photos. However if you delete the originals off the phone, then Google photos is no longer the backup but the only copy.

>>1 Just delete one photo from your phone that shows up as “backed up” in Google photo. Then open Google photo in browser and see if you can find it.

>>1 Yes you can usr the app to access photos. In my experience it's better to use to Localsend app to transfer your photos to phone to PC then to HDD. However storage is expensive rn so keep doing what you are doing.

>>1 iCloud is objectively the most secure cloud storage by far in comparison to the competitors, of course as long as you use 2FA, etc. There's no reason not to use it tbh

>>1 Use a computer and save images there. If you dont have one, a free dropbox account has 50gb of storage, and as you have various google ones, make 2 of them for 100GB

>>1 icloud is fine. If you're really one of those tinfoil hat guys, then just buy an external hdd/ssd

>>1 Just plug your iPhone into your computer and manually export your photos and videos to you computer or an external hard drive. Then delete them, then connect your Android device and import your photos and videos

>>27 Using the windows photos app? There are compatibility issues so some are missed out so you need to go one by one to see which are backed up which can be deleted. Is there a better way??

>>66 Thanks, I dont have an iCloud subscription tho. I will try method 2. For now i have figured out using pc as the server using pc hotspot and connecting to it with my files app and sending photos individually.

>>1 From スレ主 position Google photos make sense if he is switching to Android and Google photos in future, if you remain on apple I couldn't deal with two apps and all that other crap associated with it so been using icloud for our family for years. Never had a issue. Just works and is simple. If using windows based PC I just use icloud via browser much better experience then having synced to windows photos.

>>130 I use multiple “cloud” apps and it isn't a bother at all you just setup once to backup and forget about it
