Looks interesting.

Having it less invasive inside the actual viewport would be better, it’s probably „only“ a 2d screen right? It’s baffling that neither Sony nor meta or steam offer such a mode with 3D natively, wouldn’t be the hardest to code and the added 3D effect would be a great add on :)

>>17 I understand that sentiment and am trying to achieve the same. It is not a 2D screen, the frame has 3D elements. I managed to reduce some of the invasiveness by adjusting depth of field distance using native camera tweaks. I'm exploring letterboxing modes and alternatives to be sure the UI is captured and less real-estate is taken by the mask. I quote myself: "Here is a partially complete 3D stereoscopic remaster/mod in mixed reality of Baldur's Gate 3. It includes situational 3D frames chroma-keyed with alpha transparency and the ability to quickly bounce from mixed reality back to regular reality. *The deep 3D depth (can't really see here) gives the gameplay a 3D diorama vibe, the frame functions like looking through or into a portal and diffuses the outermost 3D effects which can break the natural perception & believability of the scene*"

>>18 Very nice, would be cool to play around with the fov inside the games, move in the UI a bit closer to the center and have the screen not show everything, this way you could allow for a sort of parallax effect on top of the stereoscopic effect, would make it feel even more like a window into another world :D I would love that for the mass effect legendary edition hehe

works with whatever (Quest/Frame/Mixed-reality hardware, 3D monitors, AR glasses and PCs that can't seem to run full VR)

How do you do stereo mods?

So you get to watch your high res monitor through the shitty cameras, but half the screen is obscured?
-

Like, it's pretty, and cool, but i don't understand the usecase? Why would i want half my screen covered up? And specifically the UI elements?

>>85 The frames are dynamic and change depending on the situation. It is set up with a few hotkeys to toggle between different modes, including 1st person mode. I just wanted to hop around as a frog summon for a few hours in a themed diorama...Like Moss, but not* - The mod is not at all completed yet and will probably optionally incorporate actual in-game items (helmets, rings, etc) to enable these features, maybe, who knows...

>>85 clearly a demo

this is a really cool proof of concept... what about expanding the frame a bit so you can actually see the screen and adding more animation to the outside. You could also consider making it so spell effects come into your room for example a fireball spell would blast orange light from the screen outwards and an icestorm spell would make icicles smash down around you also interesting would be cool to see if you can implement character progression or quest elements... thinking where you can see the number of parasites you have consumed by looking up and seeing them floating around above you (in your brain) or if you pick gale as your main character you look down and see his arcane bomb in your chest and it glows brighter as it becomes hungrier for artifacts just some ideas but the more I think about it the better it gets
-

>>108 also if you pick durge the room becomes dark when he has his episodes and you see more red glowing from screen the more kills you get during a battle (resets each battle)

>>111 Spoiler alert I've not finished the game yet, lol. Those are Great ideas I would need a bigger magic wand to make some of that happen, tho.

>>115 yeah I heard you had a small wand

We should let us see the whole screen otherwise there is no interest in my humble opinion.
-
151:スレ主
>>149 I changed to a wider FOV to accommodate provisioning the edges of the screen for the frame graphic. But I get it, more screen

You can achieve that with vorpx. I love playing 2d games stereoscopic. (Ive tried it with bg3 though, and it worked but didn’t perform well. Didn’t try tweaking much.)
-
163:スレ主
>>159 Me too, but I gave up on VorpX a long time ago. Paid for it even.
-

>>163 That’s a bummer. Personally, I’ve had lots of great experiences with vorpx, just not with that one. Overall, I think it’s one of the most worthwhile VR purchases I’ve made.
