[Dave2D] This Phone Did What Samsung Couldnt (closer look at OPPO Find N6's Zero-Feel Crease)\n\n https://www.youtube.com

So the statement is accurate then.

They really are, I miss the days of Samsung trying more exciting things and pushing the latest tech to their flagships. They did a lot to push foldable tech but it seems like they stagnated recently.

Not really stagnated, Samsung is trying to make their fold phones slimmer. Fold 7 is 8.90mm thick compare to latest N6 8.95mm, not much but i gotta agree with zero crease feels much better innovation.

I have a fold 7. They only cought up on thickness and weight last year after being far behind and they are still behind. No one cares of its literally a hair thinner when they still use the smallest battery possible and charging speeds of a smartwatch. Chinese phones can wirelessly charge 2x faster than the fold 7 can do wired. Not to mention they did all this at the expense of 2 unique Samsung fold features. The S PEN and under display camera.

except in the software they are not.

I don't know about other Chinese skins but Oxygen / Color OS is very good. Maybe even better than Pixel.

As long as notifications disappear from the lock screen once you unlock the phone, it is not. What a godawful decision by them. They made it worse than iPhone notification management; that is truly a feat.

Been using a OnePlus phone for a couple of years now, I didn't know why I'd want notifications on lockscreen once I've opened my phone lol

I'm not sure what you're talking about but this is false. Notifications do not randomly disappear.

They do not disappear, but they won't show up on the lock screen again.

I don't mind this at all but it is a very weird choice indeed, not the default behavior of Android at all, and should be definitely behind a toggle.

software is great as long as you don't buy Xiaomi or ZTE

Using hyperos 3 on poco f7. Everything is great. Zero complaints.

Redtragic is funny af. Care to share more of your story?

I just don't like Redmagic at all, this be the second phone I had from them, the first one was such a horrible piece of shit that barely functioned as a phone, then RM gave me a rough time trying to return the thing so I just sold it at a very minor loss.\n\ngot the 11 off amazon to get around them just in case, its much better in an echo chamber but compared to a normal phone elsewhere, its still just lacklustre, its gimmicky liquid loop is bullshit because it doesn't actually cool anything (watch a teardown) and even now, shit cameras, shit speakers and shit battery optimisation software.\n\nI'm just waiting for whatever vendor comes along next that puts a decent cooler + fan in a phone so I can immediately list this on ebay cos there is no way they can make the spec worse than these tbh.

Software is literally the easiest part to fix. A team of devs can work on that and release a new OS, as long as the bootloader is unlockable.\n\nHardware, however, takes years of development and should last a long time. That's my absolute first pick

Sh*tsung so outdated. Much slower charging speed, smaller battery, same camera since s10. But samsung fanbois buying either way. 😂

My Honor phone allows me to browse Android/Data folder which I consider a win compared to my previous samsung.

It's not really innovation as much as it is utilizing the latest hardware available from other companies like Samsung and Sony. It's also infinitely easier to do when you target the enthusiast market which is relatively small. This is easy to see when you compare sales numbers and why Samsung no longer is targeting this small user base.

I wouldn't say they're targeting an enthusiast market. They're chasing their core Chinese market which share the hyper obsessive nature over best-of-the-best specs.

    on paper.

Just like the S26 lineup is "new". On paper of course ;)

bottom feeders always wants to think they are the rebellious. lol

Shown your true colors at last, maybe consider applying at a circus. I heard they are looking for people like you.

I didn't care or say anything about you, but.... did you find something in common with you in my comment? curious.

Ehh... Samsung is rumored to have supplied the screen for the Apple foldable. That is also rumored to have a creaseless screen. Maybe they did do it already? Of course all that is speculation.

The screen is just the screen. It's the hinge that dictates the crease.

why even reply if you aren't going to watch to video so you have the slightest understanding of the subject?

Isn't that Samsung display&tech anyway tho? Would be in this gen's all the foldables.

If you watch the video it's due to the hinge design more than the screen

Oh then that's fair. I was just mega focused on title only.

As a user of every Z Flip since the 4, this is pretty neat, but I can honestly say the hinge has literally never bothered me outside of my first few minutes of usage. They're not to this level yet, but Samsung has still improved them in every generation. It might just be the difference of Fold vs. Flip, but I never even touch the crease during regular usage of my phone. It'd be sweet if Samsung is able to almost fully remove it like this, but it's not something I'd call a problem even on devices that have it. Samsung uses the teardrop on theirs too so I don't think it's even a huge concern from a durability standpoint anymore either

As an owner of a fold 7, I agree. \n\nI swear, the crease is only a big problem for people that have never used a foldable

I realize people assume it's worse than it is because they only see it from an off angle when I'm the one using it. No wonder Apple wanted to wait until it became creasefree

Oneplus.. get off your ass and release this under the Open2.. we've waited long enough lol.\n\nHopefully this device doesn't cut back on the things the Open1 smashes, such as microphone quality being very good and speaker quality being amazing, cameras are also very good so hopefully the N6 has a decent improvement

I'm sure Samsung has it figured it out, just not yet cost effective at the large volume.

Gotta have something new for marketing..otherwise this is a non-issue

This looks great. The crease never bothered me too much but the reflecatability of the protector they put on top of it does. It seems like there's no compromise between ultra glossy or a matte fingerprint magnet (I'd rather have matte). The durability is also a big thing holding me back. Everytime I see a broken one it's usually microcracks and green lines along the crease.

Overall design of Fold 7 still looks better even though the techs are inferior compared to the Find N6
