Meta Quest 3 / Pico 4 Ultra向けにWinlatorXRとHWXRがv1.0へ。性能調整、3D AER切替、解像度向上、両手での武器照準など追加。Questネイティブで動作し、クロックやリフレッシュ制御でCPU/GPU負荷を調整可能。導入ガイドやQuest 2での動作報告、Steam/Android周りの話題や要望(テレポート移動等)も議論されている。

    two highly requested features for HWXR are in latest 1.0 build. first is the 3D using AER technique, this can be toggled on and off easily in pause menu or cutscenes pressing the A button on the right controller. also two handed weapon aiming, now your left hand can grab the rifles naturally. as for winlatorXR, some serious changes behind the scenes all add up which would need an entire video dedicated to those alone, but the biggest benefit for HWXR is the new clock level and refresh rate control in the container setup. there are situations where halo can be extremely cpu bottlenecked and it's actually better to LOWER the GPU clock rates so that the GPU gets higher utilisation taking the load off cpu and therefore makes more framerate

    >>55 In the case of the Meta Quest Android is actually quite limiting as is it is locked down to only use the drivers meta packaged, which are apparently far worse than what is available. Also Android has a decent amount of overhead to begin with, banishing that to a compatibility layer is bound to free up a bunch of resources.

    So like.... this is it right? There's no more feature to hold out for? 3d and both hands on the weapon seems like pretty much the last things I'm stoked to try it out

    >>93 Most likely this is the final release unless something major comes to the LivingFray PCVR mod (eg: someone fixes the multiplayer bugs or adds co-op campaign support somehow) and I can figure out how to add it to this conversion Its still totally open source for the WinlatorXR specific conversion so anyone is welcome to add to it in future too of course

    I know its a huge ask - but teleport movement would go a long way for this one. Halo's high-action strafe-heavy shooting style made me too nauseous to play it after the 1st mission.

    I have a play for dream I cant even get it to finish installing steam. nothing works to play games either
